Elderberry syrup, what a beautiful and natural way to support our immune systems!
I have been drinking this baby for years. And in our current health situation (covid-19) It’s nice to see a lot of other people starting to add this to their immune boosting regime.
Please note, Elderberry syrup has not been testing against Corona itself, however, even modern medicine has come to the table with agreeing that the immune system boosting elements of elderberry are true.

The Recipe to make this yourself is simple!

Ingredients

3 cups filtered water
2/3 cup dried elderberries, I buy these online from Natural Instinct
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
I knob of fresh ginger, finely sliced
1 cup raw and organic honey (remember babies under 12 months cannot consume raw honey).
Instructions
Firstly, Pour the water into a medium saucepan, adding the elderberries, ginger, cinnamon, and turmeric.
Bring to a boil and then cover and reduce to a simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until the liquid has reduced by almost half.

Remove from heat and let cool until it is cool enough to be handled.

Carefully, press the berries, using a spoon or other flat utensil.
Pour through a strainer (I use a nutmilk bag) into a glass jar or bowl.
Discard the elderberries and let the liquid cool to lukewarm.
When it is no longer hot, add the honey and combine well.

When the honey is well mixed into the elderberry mixture, pour the syrup into a mason jar.

Dosage.
Take 1 teaspoon of the syrup daily either in 1 glass of water or on it’s own.
